Chartered Clinical Psychologist – Dr Petra Carlsson-Mitchell

In her private practice, INPSYCHOLOGY, Petra specialises in Psychological therapies to people over the age of 18, who experience psychological, emotional and relational difficulties that have a debilitating impact on their quality of life. She offers individually tailored psychological therapy to work alongside each person to; make sense of what may have caused their difficulties, develop a sense of self and identifying personal needs, strengthen resources and skills to cope with the ups and downs of life. The goal of therapy, as Petra sees it, is an overall improvement in the person’s general wellbeing as well as equipping them to continue to grow and thrive.

To carry out these fundamental changes, Petra implements evidence based psychological therapies that are responsive to difficulties related to: complex trauma, PTSD, loss, grief, lack of sense of self, interpersonal difficulties, low self-worth and self-confidence, shame, guilt, depression and anxiety.

Her core service involves offering individual therapy. However, mental health concerns, particularly when they are long term and deep rooted can be very stressful for people who stand close to the individual and her service also extends to offer psychological sessions and consultations for parents, partners carers and couples.
The client is at the heart of therapy. Petra takes an active non-judgemental stance to ensure that their needs are met, they feel safe and listened to. And, she cheerleads clients to stay motivated through therapy by encouraging them to take responsibility and ownership of their work.

Petra offers a free 15-minute telephone consultation as well as a reduced rate Early Consultation session. This is a pre-therapy session where you would begin to make sense of your difficulties and weigh up the pros and cons for entering into therapy. If you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Petra direct: email petra@inpsychology.co.uk or phone 07931583115.

Chartered Counselling Psychologist - Dr Judi Sharifi PsyD

As a person-centred, integrative psychologist, Judi draws from a number of evidence-based approaches to provide therapy that is tailored to suit your personal needs. With over thirty years of experience working in adult mental health in the NHS and independently, she has come to understand that how we relate to ourselves and others is at the heart of our difficulties. She has specialist experience of issues affecting older people and people facing social injustice.
By providing you with a safe place to share your story, the journey can begin where, together, you will identify those familiar patterns that seem to trap you in unhelpful ways of thinking, feeling and behaving. With warmth, compassion and humour, we will find a way to help you towards recovery and wellbeing. Above all, you will see that you are not the problem, but perhaps you are feeling overwhelmed at the moment by work, family, relationship difficulties, or simply life in general.
Judi offers assessments and treatment for a range of anxiety, mood and other disorders, as well as general life coaching.
She is registered with the British Association for Mindfulness Based Approaches (BAMBA) and has over ten years of experience teaching courses in mindfulness (stress reduction; mindfulness in the workplace; mindfulness based cognitive therapy) as well as personal meditation coaching.
